Kos
offers you a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a truly sporting life.
Perhaps now is the time for you to discover and learn to love some
sport you have never taken up before. As the town of Kos is flat, is
it ideal for jogging and cycling - a very trendy sport in Kos,
otherwise known as the 'bicycle island'. There are also many
basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. Summer vacations in Kos
definitely mean water sports, another attraction, and a pleasurable
way to spend your time by the sea. There is water skiing, surfing,
paragliding and much more.
The
sea is waiting for you to experience the joys it has to offer! All
over the island you will find many public beaches where experienced
instructors will help you come to grips with water sports. So this
summer, why not let go and live a memorable experience on the sunny
sandy beaches of the island of Kos. The selection varies from
traditional Greek tavern and restaurants, right down to pizza,
souvlaki and fast-food take-a-ways. Some of taverns / restaurants
are by the seaside - others surrounded by trees and bushes to give
you that secluded feeling. The choice of Greek wines is plentiful,
ranging from the driest of dry to the very sweet, and the quality is
surprisingly good.
ASFENDIOU-ZIA
Drowned in greenery with abundant spring waters, halfway up mount
Dikeos is Asfendiou, with its little villages, Zia, Lagoudi,
Evangelistria, Asomatos and Ag. Demetrios. There you can enjoy the
freshness of the woods in the morning and an unforgettable sunset in
the evening. Traditional houses and panoramic views, offer the

Nikolao. In Pyli you can visit the ruins of the tomb of the hero of

locals are mainly farmers in the fertile valley of the flat
settlement of Marmari, which is also a summer resort with splendid
and well-organized beaches.
ANTIMACHIA

specializes in fresh seafood houses. In Antimachia there are still a
lot of windmills. The little village Mastichari also belongs to
Antimachia; it is built by the sea and its beaches remind you of
exotic places. From the harbor, boats travel to and from nearby
Kalymnos several times daily.

43 Km away from Kos town there lies Kefalos. It is built on two
levels. The village bearing all the magnificence of the traditional
village color, with narrow lanes and white washed houses overlooks
the Aegean Sea. At the highest point, untouched by time, stands the
oldest windmill emblem of the village. At the seaside, the resort
Kamari, has the coldest and most crystal clear waters of the island
and a well organized beach. In the many restaurants, which lie along
the beach, you can taste traditional cuisine and plenty of fresh
